ABOUT
MSR CAMBRIDGE:
Microsoft Research Cambridge is one of the six research labs established by
Microsoft Corporation worldwide. The lab was set up in July 1997 as the first
Microsoft lab outside the United States and today employs 75 researchers,
mostly from Europe, who engage in programming languages, security, information
retrieval, machine learning, computer vision, operating systems and networking
research. Through its External Research Office (ERO), formed in July 2004,
Microsoft Research is extending the scope of its activities into key new areas
outside 'core' computer science such as biological sciences, physics, chemistry,
etc. This is achieved through collaborative research and strategic partnerships
with universities, governments and industry partners.
